Locally Verified - Terms
The Locally Verified promise is the only guarantee we have ever offered, and it has not changed since Ward Selby wrote it down in 1997. When you hire any company that carries our name, you get ninety days to hold us to four simple commitments: we publish who we are, where we are, and what we charge; the person you talk to is the person who shows up; and the price on the phone matches the price on the invoice. If any piece of that breaks down, we make it right. The window is ninety days from the date of service, which is long enough to catch a problem and short enough that we both remember the details.
What’s Covered
- Workmanship that holds up. The repair, installation, or service was done the way a skilled owner-operator would do it for his own neighbor. If it fails because of how the work was performed, we come back and fix it. No charge for that.
- Honest pricing with no surprises. The price you were quoted on the phone, confirmed by text, or given in writing before work began is the price on the final invoice. Not “starting at,” not “plus materials,” not a different number once the truck is in your driveway. If we missed something and the scope changes, we stop and talk before the meter runs.
- On-time service, or we call. The window we give you is the window. If traffic, weather, or the job ahead of you pushes us past it, we pick up the phone ourselves and tell you. You are not left watching the clock.
- Make-it-right resolution. If something about the job was not what we promised, we do not hand you off to a call center or make you chase us. The owner who put his name on the truck coordinates the fix directly. Ask anyone on your street; that is how this works.
How to Make a Claim
Step one: contact the Locally company you hired. Use the same number you called the first time. The owner answers his own phone, so you are talking to the person who can actually fix the problem. No ticket numbers, no departments, no hold music.
Step two: describe what went wrong and when the service happened. We need to know it is within the ninety-day window, which runs from the date on your invoice. A photo or two helps, but the main thing is your word and the record of the visit. We keep our own notes, so we can usually pull the job up while we are talking.
Step three: the owner and the Locally family coordinate a resolution. Sometimes that means he comes back himself with the right part or the right adjustment. Sometimes, if the situation calls for it, another owner in our network steps in to get you whole again. Either way, you are not left negotiating with someone who was not there and does not know your name. The goal is simple: you are satisfied, and you would hire a Locally company again. That is the only metric that has ever mattered to us.
Conditions
We ask for the same good faith we offer. Keep your proof of service, the invoice or receipt with the date and the company name on it. Give us reasonable access to the work area, the same as you did the first time. And the promise covers normal use in a residential setting, not damage from accidents, weather events, or modifications someone else made after we left. We do not cap what we will spend to make it right, and we do not force you into arbitration or small-print hoops. But we do need to see the work, understand what happened, and have a fair shot to fix it. That is the deal, and it has been the deal since 1997.
We named this company for the answer to the only question our customers actually ask. Not a place, not a virtue, not a founder’s initials. Just the word they say out loud when they are deciding whether to trust you: “Are you actually local?” These terms are how we put a guarantee behind that answer. Every Locally company is owner-operated in the town it serves. The truck carries his name, he lives twenty minutes away, and he is going to run into you again on a Saturday. That is the oldest accountability mechanism there is.
Terms may vary slightly by brand and local regulations.
